The Sudbury Theatre Centre is once again pleased to offer a fundraising opportunity to not-for-profit organizations in the Sudbury area. Our current season is completely filled, so we invite you to get your plans ready early for next season.
To qualify, the organization is asked to complete the required form and submit it to the STC by no later than noon on June 21, 2010.
Who is eligible?
Any not for profit organization serving the City of Greater Sudbury is eligible: i.e. sports groups, school trips, charitable organizations, Cubs or Brownies, church organizations, etc.
How do we raise money through STC?
The organization purchases 28 seats to an STC show for $10 per seat (total $280.00) and re-sells them for the price they determine. Since an adult ticket sells for $32 by the STC, the organization could sell the ticket for $35 making a profit of $25 for each ticket. The total profit for the group selling all 28 of its tickets at a price of $35 is actually $700. Selling each ticket for $25 would make the groups profit $420.00
Again, the group may set any fundraising price it wishes.
Are all shows equal in monetary value?
The price for STC’s Theatre for Young(ish) Audiences tickets is less. Since one STC ticket sells for $22, not the $32 of the other shows, the organization will be allotted tickets for $5 each. If the organization makes a profit of $17 per ticket, STC will provide that group with 35 tickets to sell so that the group has the potential to make $595.00 profit.
What if our group is a summer sports group?
We can provide the tickets by the end of June for sales to begin when the group chooses.
What if our group is a winter team?
This fundraiser serves all groups, no matter when they meet. STC has shows from September through to May.
Does the group get to choose its show and performance date?
The group may make a suggestion on the form, but STC reserves the right to assign each particular show.
How will we know if our group as been selected for this opportunity?
Groups who are selected for this fundraiser will be notified by STC on Friday, June 25, 2010 ONLY if the group has been selected. Those not selected will not be notified.
STC reserves the right to make a fair selection from all applicants. Ticket pricing subject to change.
