For over 40 years STC has been a vital cultural entity in the City of Greater Sudbury, presenting audiences with the chance to experience award-winning productions that are emotionally powerful, socially conscious and uniquely reflective of the concerns and habits of northerners. The stories we tell absorb the heart and mind while gently confronting meaningful social and familial issues. We present honest plays that challenge, inspire and reflect the community’s needs. From humble beginnings, today the STC can lay claim to being the only English-language professional theatre between Sudbury and Thunder Bay. With a 287 seat auditorium, a fully-licensed lounge, dressing rooms, a rehearsal hall, a greenroom, wardrobe, storage, an in-house workshop and administrative office space all located under one roof, STC truly has it all.
